Violent Bihar Mob Shatters the Train Windows Going to Kumbh

The situation escalated when the train that was already filled with passengers arrived at the Madhubani station. With the train gates locked for preventing further overcrowding, the mob began pelting stones at the AC coaches. They shattered the windows.

The eyewitness reported hearing the chants “phodiye phodiye” (break it) while the crowd tried to forcefully enter the train. The situation worsened with the attempts by the mob to climb through the broken windows. It caused panic among the seated passengers. The vandalism at the station continued, even after the departure of the train. The windows got smashed between Madhubani and Darbhanga stations.

Police Intervention and its Aftermath

After the said incident, both the Railway Police Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) intervened to control the situation as per credible sources. 2 individuals got arrested for involvement in the vandalism. Authorities are now investigating the matter further.

Station House Officer (SHO) from GRP Samastipur, BP Alok confirmed the arrests while stating the situation to be under control. He added, “No law and order situation arose at Samastipur station. We have managed the crowd and the train left with passengers.”

Despite all the chaos, no major injuries are reported. However, the extensive damage to the coaches has raised a lot of questions about crowd management and security at the times of peak travel periods, especially during events like Maha Kumbh. The incident further highlights a need to have better planning and coordination to prevent future violence. As authorities continue to review the measures, the safety of passengers with the prevention of similar incidents is expected ahead.
