A popular Indian YouTuber, Dhruv Rathee has again made headlines as he condemned the alleged harassment of the creators like Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia. Rathee, who’s known for his critical takes on political and social issues, called out the excessive media and legal scrutiny faced by the YouTubers after the controversial remarks on the podcast.

While Rathee earlier criticized the comments he made, stating them as “irresponsible and regressive,” he now questions disproportionate responses from the authorities, calling them “unacceptable, wrong, and very suspicious.”

Dhruv Rathee’s Condemnation to YouTuber’s Harassment

In one of the recent videos, Dhruv Rathee expressed his disapproval of the backlash faced by Raina and Allahbadia following their controversial comments on India’s Got Latent. While Rathee initially criticized the remarks, stating they were regressive and harmful, he now slams the excessive media and legal pressure on the duo.

Rathee stated, “I may not like or agree with Ranveer or Samay’s content.. But the way the politicians, media anchors, police, and the whole machinery is harassing them is unacceptable, wrong, and very suspicious.”

Rathee suggested that the focus on YouTubers can just be a deliberate attempt to divert attention from some pressing national issues like the Manipur crisis. He further didn’t fail to state how the Manipur CM’s resignation news was recently shut out from the news channels, pointing to the need to focus on what’s a priority.

Dhruv Rathee Talks on Legal Action Against YouTubers

Comments by Rathee sparked a debate on whether the heavy-handed legal response to the YouTubers remains justified, especially when India faces far more serious concerns. While some argue that online platforms must be held accountable for spreading harmful content, others believe that targeting YouTubers is distracting everyone from larger issues like inflation, unemployment, and social unrest.

Rathee’s stance further highlights the need to have a balanced approach. To have accountability that doesn’t overshadow the critical national concerns is essential.

Dhruv Rathee Critical Take on BJP

It’s not the first time Rathee was in the spotlight. Just a few days before, Rathee blamed the BJP for the defeat of AAP in the Delhi elections. He accused the ruling party of stalling the functioning of the Delhi government. He said, “AAP lost because no work was being done in Delhi since the last few years… BJP did everything possible to stall the whole functioning of the government.”
