Raveena and Govinda were one of the famous iconic pairs that gave a number of blockbuster movies in the 90s. The pair reflected great on-screen chemistry, humour and starred in some of the most catchy songs which earned a huge fan base.
The pair of Raveena and Govinda often sparked curiosity amongst the fans whether there was any real life romance that ever brewed between the two stars during their respective careers. Now in a recent podcast with Hindi Rush, Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja has stated that Raveena wanted to marry Govinda.
“Raveena still says, Chichi, If I would have find you earlier then I would have married you. I tell her yeah go and marry him then you will realize (laughs!)” Sunita Ahuja stated.
From the way Sunita stated, it appears that Raveena used to tell about marrying Govinda in a joking manner.
Govinda did not had the right circle : Wife Sunita Reveals
While Govinda was a huge star in the 90s and early 2000s, he did not enjoy the same stardom from nearly 2005 and his wife stated in the same podcast that her husband was not surrounded by the right people during that time which led to his career downfall.
“David (Dhawan) is like my father. I had a great bond with him. But what happens, the heroes of earlier time used to have too many sycophant. These sycophants used to create a lot of misunderstandings. I have stated earlier also in a podcast that people got jealous with the pair of Govinda and David. An artist should be surrounded by positive people. If you surround yourself with negative people, then negativity will come in you. If today we also surround ourselve witih negative people, then we will also start to think negative like them. And David didn’t said anything (to Govinda). He only told him that times have changed now. In the 90s, solo hero movies were possible. But will it work today? Only a few succeeds like that of Salman or Sharukh. Amit Ji had also done second lead. There were 3 heroes in HUM movie. There were 2 heroes in Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan. So David only told Govinda that you can also do a second lead. But people used to fill ears of him (referring to Govinda) that you are a hero. Then I used to get very angry by seeing all this. Because I speak whatever I feel inside. I told him if you listen to such type of people then what will happen to your career.”
Govinda may return to silver screen in 2026. He recently announced on the Kapil Sharma Show about three upcoming film projects. One of them will be Avatar Babu which will be a film based on science fiction and fantasy. Then there are also reports that the actor may be a part of the sequel of 2006 Bhagam Bhag along with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
