It is not an alien fact that a common Indian man often faces harrasment from the police. Multiple incidences have been reported throughout the years where police have deliberately caused trouble in order to gain some bribery from the concerned parties. Now a famous Delhi lawyer has put forth his opinions that nearly 99% of Indian police are corrupt.
Speaking on the podcast with Raj Shamani, Delhi based lawyer Amish Aggarwal stated from his personal experience with his clients that some police people can be extremely troublesome to the public by beating them in open.
Amish stated that thanks to quality smartphones with good camera that incidences of police asking for bribery is only happening behind closed doors only which earlier used to happen openly.
“Ab khulle mein pitai kari bhaiya, video viral ho gyi, fir jawab dena hai, legislator bolta hai, executive bolta hai, seniors bolte hain, aur judge bhi bulate hain court mein.” Amish opined on the podcast.
“Pehle jo rishwat vala aur corruption vala kaam tha, jo pehle khule aam hota tha, vo ab diwaron ke peeche hota hai. Mein yeh nahin kahunga, har ek police vaala kharab hai, bikaao hai.” Amish said.
Amish also highlighted the suffering of the innocent party in criminal cases that in almost every criminal cases, lawyers advise their clients to provide bribery to the police people whether they ask for it or not.
“Almost sare criminal cases mein, ek criminal lawyer apne client ko bolta hai ki bhai hum kitna bhi justice ki koshish karein. police valon ke pass itni power hoti hai, cheezein change karne ke liye………..toh inko khush karne ke liye, aap khud se thoda bahut do, chahe police vaala maange ya na maange “…..
Amish stated that out of 100 police people, you may find one honest police personnel who will not accept bribery from the concerned parties. However, the lawyer also stated that a police personnel may decline bribery not because of honesty but because he has already accepted the bribe from the other party or that he has been instructed by his senior due to their relation with an infleuntial person.
On being asked about the honesty of judges, Amish did not hesitated and opined that even judges from district court, high court and even supreme court can be corrupt.
Amish Aggarwala is a supreme court lawyer has been practicing law for nearly a decade and his most famous client was Saravjeet Singh who was wrongly accused by Delhi girl Jasleen Kaur.
