A recently viral clip on Twitter has been sparking controversy. The content alleges that Samay Raina, the comedian, jokingly encouraged one of his fan in an audio conversation that he can send the couples to the show for the p**n shoot.
In the audio, Raina can be seen saying hilariously, “If someone wants to come on our show and do a p**n shoot, if you know someone like this, please send them. It will be so much fun. The whole Internet is going to burst. So that would be epic.”
Raina can be heard even defending his stance by saying that comedy isn’t meant to deliver moral lessons. It’s to entertain and to provide the viewers with an escape from the reality of their daily lives. He even emphasized that all individuals have topics that they find uncomfortable, and comedy can’t cater to all of their sensitiveness. In his words, “Comedy is comedy. It’s meant for fun. We all laugh, and then we all die. That’s all.”
The post on X (Twitter) has garnered more than 300K views. It’s important to note that, despite the audio getting viral, the authenticity of it cannot be verified independently.
The video is getting viral on Twitter at a time when both Samay Raina and Ranvver Allahbadia are getting lambasted by social media users for spilling out content that is being considered obscene.
Samay Raina Controversy Leads to Police Investigation
While the backlashes continue, the entire controversy has escalated enough to make the Mumbai Police visit the sets of India’s Got Latent after the FIR complaint. The complaint was filed against Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and the famous influencer Apoorva Makhija, apart from the organizers of the show, for allegedly making inappropriate remarks and using abusive language.
Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis too, on being questioned about the circulating videos and the controversies, recently gave a stern reaction to the incident. Moreover, former NCW chief Rekha Sharma has also expressed her shock. She called out such jokes, stating it to be morally degrading and unacceptable.
Comedy Or Controversial Chatter for Views?
While the controversy continues to gain light, this isn’t the first time that India’s Got Latent faced backlash. Some of its previous episodes did feature eyebrow-raising comments, including some comments from Rakhi Sawant.
