Aman Gupta Smirks at Gaurav Taneja during Shark Tank India Episode
During the episode, it could be seen that Gaurav Taneja tried his level best to convince sharks to invest in his business. But Aman Gupta had reservations about Gaurav’s participation in the business as he is mainly an influencer who is also running other businesses of Ghee making by the name of Rosier Foods. Aman gupta had confidence in the other co-founder Raj Gupta as he is not running any other business but expressed hesitation that he had only 11 percent stake in the business. The entire conversation happened as stated below.
Aman: – This is only part time for you. If he (indicating Gaurav) opens up 3 – 4 other business then he will be spending even lesser time in the office than now. Gaurav Am I right? Gaurav : – No Sir. Aman : – Why? Gaurav: – Sir, I have given everything in this product Beast Life. Aman : – (Laughs Sarcastically) Gaurav : – Yes, Sir. I have given my everything. If I fail, then I won’t be able to make anything other. This is my life and I have poured my life into this product.
Upon listening to Taneja that he had poured his life into Beast Life, Piyush Bansal asked that why Taneja is then doing other businesses if he is pouring his entire into Beast Life Whey Protein product. Taneja answered that an average person wastes a lot of time and that he is capable of doing multiple things as he was doing pro body-building alongside being a captain of an airline.
“It seems unstable” : Aman Gupta on Flying Beast diverse Career Portfolio
Listening to Gaurav Taneja on how he was able to do both flying and body-building, thereby would be able to handle a Protein Power business also, Aman gupta replied that it appears unstable.
“Aman Gupta : – I am sensing a vibe of little unstablility. Gaurav Taneja : – It may look unstable to you right now but one day if this thing gets running then it won’t look unstable to you. Aman Gupta : – But if some other business of your’s starts to do well, then you could quit this business. Gaurav Taneja : – Sir both will run successfully, you guys also have multiple investments. Aman: – There is a difference between investment and founder, we all are founders of only one company. Piyush Bansal: – As an investor, its a different proposition and as a founder its a different proposition.”
Aman Gupta Gives Reason Why He Rejected Gaurav Taneja’s Business Offer
While Aman gupta did not pro-actively praised Beast Life’s Whey Protein product, he didn’t find any faults in the business model other than that Gaurav Taneja was also doing other business along with being an influencer through which he earns a substantial income which he refused to disclose on Shark Tank Episode despite Anupam Mittal’s request to divulge it. Taneja even refused to divulge his stake holdership in his other business of Ghee Making, thereby illiciting even more hesistancy from the Sharks.
The Sharks may have lost any hope when Taneja claimed that Youtubers of nearly a million follwers earn an average 10 Lakhs a month. Taneja has nearly 6 million followers on his Youtube channel alone.
On the other hand, Vineeta Singh asked Taneja on how he would leverage his brand to a thousand crores business. Taneja opined that they are aware about the leverage that an influencer image can get to kickstart the business and that they will figure out soon about earning more revenue from the Whey Protein business.
During the episode, Taneja remarked that a Youtuber with one million subscribers earns nearly 10 lakhs a month. Considering that Taneja he has nearly 9 million subscribers, it could mean that he earns almost 90 lakhs a month.
