But I couldn’t used to sleep at night (that time) because my conscience said that this is not right because I was being given a readymade platform. How would I know whether I have that thing in me or not? Its not happening on the basis of merit. And whatever I had done till then, I had done on merit. So I got up in the morning, touched Dad’s feet. We were having morning tea and I said that I don’t want to do this film. He thought I was having cold feet. He said what happened? Are you nervous? And I said that not, I am actually coming with all clarity. With all due respect and humility, thank you for doing this but I will go to Abbas Mustan Sahab and I will apologize and say that I don’t want to do this film. I said I will struggle. Dad said, are you crazy? I have worked 30 years to build a platform for you. Why do you have to struggle? I said I will struggly and I will not embarres you.”
